When we think about being “fit,” we usually picture gym workouts, healthy meals, and meditation. But there’s another type of fitness that’s just as important: financial fitness.
At the Peak City Fitness Festival, our mission is to make fitness, wellness, and financial literacy free and accessible to everyone. This year, we are excited to put an even bigger spotlight on the financial literacy piece of that mission. Thanks to our partnership with PNC Bank, attendees can take a real step toward financial wellness by opening a bank account right at the festival.
The Mind-Body-Money Connection:

Physical fitness strengthens your body, boosts your energy, and supports a longer, healthier life.
Mental wellness gives you the tools to handle stress, maintain focus, and feel grounded.
Financial health impacts both in powerful ways. Money stress is one of the leading causes of anxiety, in fact, according to the American Psychological Association, nearly two in three adults say money is a significant source of stress. When we strengthen our financial health, we strengthen our overall wellbeing.
What It Means to Be Financially Fit
Being financially fit means:
Having a budget that works for your life
Living within your means
Building an emergency fund
Avoiding high-interest debt
Setting short- and long-term goals
Knowing where your money is going and making intentional decisions
How to Train Your Financial Muscles
Just like in physical fitness, small consistent steps matter more than quick fixes.
Start by tracking your spending the way you would track your workouts.
Schedule a regular time each week to check in on your finances, think of it as your “money date.” Look for resources that can help you build your knowledge and confidence, whether that’s a trusted mentor, a financial advisor, or a community event like the Peak City Fitness Festival.
How the Festival Helps
We believe access to financial knowledge is a key part of a healthy lifestyle. At the festival, you can:
Visit the PNC booth for free financial resources and tips.
Open a bank account on the spot.
Purchase my books, designed to teach financial literacy in a way that is simple, engaging, and empowering.
